England, UK

Since I have never done any form of British Education before, I have learned now how vastly different the U.K. Education System vs the U.S. Education System differ. I think I'm already bias, but I prefer the U.S. Education System just because I feel that the U.K. formatting makes kids grow up too quickly. For instance, at the age of 16, kids are able to choose to go straight to work or attend "college", which isn't the same type of "college" in the U.S., but it offers education vs real world decisions at such a young age. Nonetheless, I'm sure each country coordinates their education system for a reason. Comparing each country's education system is a WHOLE separate post, but if you are interested on the difference between U.K. and U.S. education system, I found this informative video here, which you can watch.
When I arrived back to England in 2023, I was very excited to be back! I was able to apply for the Student Visa and my mindset being back in England was that I would continue to volunteer at Chroma and focus on my Master's Degree. After two months of being back, Jose and I started dating! *insert heart emoji*
Classes started early October and were held once a week on Thursdays in two sections: The morning class and the evening class. (It's been a good chunk of time since I've had to remember the layout of these classes-- so please bare with.) For the entirety of the course, we had 6 different modules in which a new professor would teach. I enjoyed these classes and the layout because it gave the opportunity to focus on one subject at a time, which I felt allowed us to really give our best to each subject.
One thing I noticed that was threaded throughout the course was the emphasis on "craft," which entailed our writing process, the environment we write in, our medium, and the meta-process in which we write. I found this to be really helpful in figuring out what kind of writer I was, how I wrote, and the creative process in which I was able to produce creative work.
There were 6 of us in this cohort and they were all so encouraging, fun, insanely inspiring, and gave critical feedback, which was a significant part of the writing process that helped me grow to become a better writer, which helped all of us become better writers.
I am happy to say that I have officially graduated from De Montfort University with a Master's in Creative Writing and that a literary agent is interested in my novel. Overall, I am grateful for the experience of being able to have this accomplishment-- especially having done it in ENGLAND!
